Every Sunday The Artist Palette offers 2-3 hour workshops for those who want a quick art fix! Local artists teach workshops for ages 12 to adult. Each workshop lets one explore a fresh new medium.

January 10th
Coming out of the Shadows: 1:00-3:00/ $30

Take shadow art to another level. Using a personal aura chart to find the color of your aura essence, create your colorful and meaningful silhouette using a variety of paper and color.

January 17th
Georgia O’Keefe Flowers: 11:00-1:00/ $35

Up close and personal with flowers. This workshop will show you how to transform a flower into a powerful abstract image, painting crisp contoured forms that are sensational with subtle tonal transitions of varying colors using acrylic paint on canvas.

January 24th
The Art Of The Dot: 1:00-3:00/$35

Stippling is an art similar to pointillism. In pen and ink stippling you use dots to create areas of shade and tone. In this workshop you will learn to turn your sketches into amazing black and white, with a splash of color, stippled drawings/illustrations.

January 31st
Calligraphy: 1:00-3:30/$30

The art of beautiful writing. Create a one-of-a–kind piece using the Italic hand. Bring a short quote, song or poem and beautify your handwriting. 

February 7th
Behind the Mask; Creative Word Play: 1:00-3:00/$35 

What a great way to show the world what you are like on the outside, but you get to hide all the things you are on the inside. This fun project will have you searching through magazines to find just the right words for your decoupage-collaged mask. 

February 21st
Mono Prints; The Art of the One Off: 1:00-3:00/$35

Mono printing is a quick, fun and easy to do printmaking art form. In mono printing you paint with printers ink quickly and loosely on a slate of glass. Then you transfer that image to paper.

February 28th
Zentangles: 1:00-3:00/$30

Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from drawing repetitive patterns. It is "Zen" for the relaxation and "tangle" for the patterns we draw; easy, fun, relaxing, amazing little pieces of art. Supplies included in price of workshop. For more info visit www.zentangle.com

March 7th

March 14th
Mini Canvas with Easel: 11:30-1:30/$30

Fun, fun, fun, is what you’ll have when you start painting on tiny canvases with acrylic paint. If you don’t think you can paint don‘t worry, there will be plenty of inspiration to help you design you own work of art and display it proudly on an easel.

March 21st
Linoleum Cut Printing: 1:00-3:00/$35

In this fun and easy reductive printing workshop you will learn and create prints that are from linoleum. Similar to wood cuts, linoleum offers the artist a material that is much more forgiving and accessible than wood. Participants will cut their own black and print their work. Both press printing and hand printing will be available.

April 11th
Watercolor Fruits and Vegetables: 11:30-1:30/$35

Using real fruit and vegetables as a still life, you will learn to draw and incorporate ink, watercolor and other mixed media to a beautiful work of art. 

April 18th
Clay and the Japanese Tea Bowl: 1:00-3:00/$35
Everyone loves to get their hands dirty with clay. Well most of us anyway. In this workshop you will learn the historic aspects of the Japanese tea ceremony and create your own hand built Japanese tea bowl. Aspects of design and hand building will be covered. All participant pots will be fired and glazed then returned for pickup.

April 25th
Dried Flower and Shell Collage: 11:30-1:30/$30

Wonder what to do with all those shells and dried flowers you been collecting all these years. This workshop will supply you with all the materials you need to design a wonderful whimsical piece of wall art; all you bring is your imagination. 

May 2nd
